About Our Exchange Inventory and Overhaul Service

As an early leader in the business, we originally established our inventory to support our overhaul shop and to provide coverage for AOG’s, where delivery delays occurred. In addition, it now provides cost savings for operators by enabling them to reduce inventory costs for aircraft spares. Thanks to our customers, we have a good turnover that endures your order will have a current date tag.

We offer exchanges at competitive prices. The price takes into account a normal overhaul cost and the market value of the unit. A generator, for example, might have a purchase price of $40,000, but the exchange is only $4,200.00. Often, there are component failures that result in higher billing. A bearing failure of that generator could result in additional billing as high as $40,000.00. Exchange cores not in normal run-out condition, severely damaged units, or wrong cores are subject to additional billing. Examples of additional billing include defective stators, fields, armatures, rotors, commutators, journals, shafts, endbells, housings, valve bodies, terminal blocks, fans, solenoids, electrical assemblies, circuit boards, pistons, etc.

Additional billing will be invoiced within approximately 60 days. Returned goods from cancelled exchanges are subject to a 10% restocking fee. Additional billing is reviewed taking into account the original exchange price, the market value of the unit, and most importantly, the customer’s specific needs and comments. We never bill additional without notifying you by phone and fax, including a detailed report so you can bill your customer if necessary. Although additional billing is not desirable, it is a better option than higher exchange prices, which actually would increase operator costs. If you are dealing with a transient customer, you can request we evaluate your core on a rush basis to minimize the time that lapses, which cause you difficulties in billing your customer.

Another option for your exchange needs, which avoids additional billing, is cost of overhaul, which translates to labor and material against your core. Simply, we send you a unit and await your core to bill you once for the cost on your unit’s overhaul.

Sales of new and excess inventory, especially on Honeywell, KGS, Lucas/TRW, and Weldon are also available on request.

As always, all customer repairs for OEMs, operators, and suppliers are priority for our staff. If you need special assistance, never hesitate to call us to expedite your repair order. If our salesmen quote you, but the item is not ready to ship, we can usually have it ready to ship by days end to meet your AOG. We have 40 years experience in handling high pressure AOG situations, and can also accept your unit for overhaul, and do a one day turnaround and ship your overhauled unit back to us the same day (depending on the unit, call in advance). Loaners are available to reduce operator downtime during scheduled overhauls.
